Shelley Odradek is a strategy, an experiment in that emerged during a hybrid remote/physical seminar: “Re–Directing: East x Empathic Pedagogies: Future Intimacies”, at the Center for Contemporary Art (CSW Zamek Ujazdowski) in Warsaw, Poland. Working collaboratively as artists-in-residence alongside a team half based in Warsaw and half in Mexico City, we (Andrzejewska + Zazenski) began to explore what it is to navigate two bodies as one with core values of trust, authenticity, and curiosity. Shelley was manifested through a need to explore the future of intimacy, in consideration of life behind a screen, of love from a distance. Shelley Odradek is a platform for engagement through which we explore questions of how borders, bodies, and ethics play out across our digital and physical selves.
